An old train makes its way from Porto, alongside the Douro River in Northern Portugal, to Pinhão, a tiny village with a beautiful station, complete with Alentejo blue tiles on the platform walls. They served wine on the train, and we were serenaded by local musicians. The views from the train were spectacular as we made our slow journey to Pinhão, with great views of the vineyards of this famous port producing region.

“Portugal of the Little Ones” is a tourist attraction in the city of Coimbra that showcases many houses, famous buildings, castles and other historical sites from around the country in miniature form. This picture is of my three girls standing near a miniature replica of the University of Coimbra. This is a great place for kids and adults alike to wander around the gardens and buildings and even go inside many of the small structures—just mind your head!

A beautiful walk on our way to a port tasting—in Porto of course!

Porto is a beautiful city where you can meet lovely people, eat incredibly good food and enjoy basking in a wonderful place.
