Where the old meets the new

Throughout the centuries, Germany, a Central European country, has stirred all kinds of passions. Now unified, the land of Goethe and Beethoven offers a landscape of, among other things, languorous plains, mythical forests and green mountains. Berlin, the country's capital, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich attract visitors from all over the world.

Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria

Thanks to AirTransat I've been able to fly to Europe on a budget almost every summer for the past few years. I have visited different cities in Germany each time. The place that I was absolutely mesmerized by was the Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau Bavaria. A magical place. Other places we enjoyed were Tropical Island in Berlin, Thermal Erding in Erding, Europa Park in Rust, Legoland in Gunzburg & Phantasialand in Bruhl. Cities I fell in love with were Dresden & Cologne.

Everything!

Where to begin. I lived in Hamburg for three months, from September to October and the city totally and completely stole my heart. From ritzy neighbourhoods like Blankenese to the grungy-cool parts like Sternshanze, Hamburg has it all. The party scene is unparalleled to any I have experienced, and I was a regular to the pubs in the Reeperbahn (I recommend Murphy's Irish Pub and Molly Malone's!). And for the cultural folks, there are plenty of museums and tours to embark on!

Germany

We visited the beautiful wine region along the mosel river. We fly into Frankfurt airport and had about an hours drive. Decended down into the valley of the mosel. Quaint little villages to explore along the river. Mosel cruise, exploring castles, wine feastivals. Close the rhine but with out the busy crowds. Stayed a a VRBO and just loved the whole experience.

Favorite place to eat

this has a great beer garden where you can sit outside and view the beautiful landscape of the gardens and the food was excellent. I still dream of the food! Can't wait to go back!
