Gateway to the Costa del Sol

Set on the sparkling Costa del Sol, Picasso’s birthplace features a lively port area teeming with restaurants and bars, many fine beaches and a maze of winding streets filled with almost every shop imaginable. The atmosphere is typically Andalusian, laidback by day and lively by night when most of the city seems to be out on the streets. In your free time, drive down the coast and explore the picturesque white villages or travel inland to discover the beauty of Seville, Granada and Cordoba.

Sail to some of Spain and Italy’s most intriguing cities or head east to Madeira and the subtropical Canary Islands for some unforgettable vacation moments.

Castle of Segovia

Auteur: Dan

Entering the old town of Segovia by walking under the ancient Roman aqueduct, we strolled up the narrow winding cobblestone street to the Plaza Mayor, where we had an enjoyable lunch in the scenic plaza. Wandering the traffic-less cobblestone streets to the castle was a delight. The view from this ancient fortification and royal residence was spectacular.

Nice beach, Torremolinos

Auteur: David

This is the view of the beach from our room at the Meliá Costa del Sol, in Torremolinos. The beach was fantastic but the water was very, very cold! We were there at the end of June so I was somewhat surprised. Still, a beautiful place to go and relax.

Postcard quest, Cádiz

Auteur: Kim

Walking around Cádiz, we found a postcard with a picture of this structure from this angle, and we walked for over three hours trying to find where the photographer must have been to get this photo—no matter where we went we could only see the golden roof, until finally we stumbled upon the right part of the city. Definitely worth it—a great shot!

No sleepwalking in Comares

The village of Comares is hard to find but worth the visit. It is located high in the mountains.
