Burano is a delightfully bright and beautiful island to explore. The sounds of family life spill out onto the streets as you walk by the doors and windows covered by curtains that are unable to contain the lively conversations and laughter within.

I had my best meal in Italy in the village of Borghetto, about a 20-minute drive from Verona. The restaurant was in an old inn called Antica Locanda Mincio. It was located beside the slow flowing waters of Mincio River, under a canopy of trees, which only enhanced the delicious lunch we had, including their specialty of pumpkin tortellini

We dropped off at Verbania, on the coast of Lago Maggiore. We then had a lazy day, travelling by ferry to reach the little lake town. To our wonder, we were the only ones who got this beautiful sunny view of freshly fallen morning snow on the Alps.

The moment I set foot in Piazza San Marco, I fell in love with Venice. I loved the architecture, the sounds and the people. We arrived early in the morning so it was very quiet and peaceful. I could sit there for hours and watch the world go by! I definitely need to return one day.
