Still before the “storm,” Chioggia

Auteur: Brian

Chioggia is a town at the southern end of the Venice Lagoon and as such is not on the tourist radar—rather, it’s a lively fishing village. This picture was taken seconds before the church bells rang out 7 a.m., at which time every window and door exploded open with the bustle of a very busy Italian town.

Village of the best tortellini, Borghetto

Auteur: Svetlana

I had my best meal in Italy in the village of Borghetto, about a 20-minute drive from Verona. The restaurant was in an old inn called Antica Locanda Mincio. It was located beside the slow flowing waters of Mincio River, under a canopy of trees, which only enhanced the delicious lunch we had, including their specialty of pumpkin tortellini

Snow on the Alps, Lago Maggiore

Auteur: Véronique

We dropped off at Verbania, on the coast of Lago Maggiore. We then had a lazy day, travelling by ferry to reach the little lake town. To our wonder, we were the only ones who got this beautiful sunny view of freshly fallen morning snow on the Alps.

Piazza San Marco, Venice

Auteur: Jennifer

The moment I set foot in Piazza San Marco, I fell in love with Venice. I loved the architecture, the sounds and the people. We arrived early in the morning so it was very quiet and peaceful. I could sit there for hours and watch the world go by! I definitely need to return one day.

A view from the top—Florence cathedral

Auteur: Jenny

After climbing 414 steps to the top of Giotto’s bell tower, we were rewarded with this beautiful view of Brunelleschi's dome.
