The postcard continent
Citizens of the world who do not live in Europe will probably never cease to
dream of the day when they can discover this continent and gaze upon the wonders and
splendours of its "old countries." Europeans, for their part, are quick to leave for the

Europe is the smallest of all five continents. Located west
of Asia and north of Africa, it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the
Mediterranean Sea to the south. Covering 10,000,000 km² (3,861,094 sq mi), Europe includes
45 states and more than 700 million inhabitants.
