In no way is the United States
monolithic in terms of geography, culture and demography. The immense territory of
contrasting relief and climates is home to a diverse population whose lifestyle varies
according to region and socio-economic level. Here, the vast spaces go hand in hand with a
geographic and demographic diversity that cannot be described with simple clichés: indeed,
the frenetic pace of the great cities, the deserts, the forests, the great plains, the
geysers, the canyons, the mountains and the oceans have blended together to create a
magnificent land of contrasts and have deeply influenced the population, economic
development, lifestyle and culture of this country.
