Explore the Chiado district, known as the heart of Lisbon and characterized by its stately architecture and abundance of boutiques. Here, you’ll also find some of the best shopping in Lisbon with tonnes of quaint yet trendsetting boutiques at affordable prices.

But first, coffee

Located in this part of town experiencing rapid growth is A Brasileira café. It’s a real journey through time as you walk in the door of this café, with its Belle Époque decor. Open since 1905, A Brasileira was the first place to serve bica, a strong coffee similar to espresso.

Burel Factory

Modern pieces made the old-fashioned way! Just a few steps away, Gracie and Camille fall under the spell of Loja da Burel, a boutique offering plenty of contemporary accessories. Made with real wool, these items are crafted according to traditional methods.

You can even visit the production workshop, just 20 minutes from the city, right in the Portuguese countryside in the village of Manteigas.

A Vida Portuguesa

In addition to the places highlighted in this episode, our two bloggers also loved the boutique A Vida Portuguesa, which works with several Portuguese brands. In the mood for a shopping spree? Good news: this shop sells its products, including kitchen, beauty, ceramic and stationery items online.

If you’re willing to venture further out than Chiado, their flagship store in Intendente is absolutely gorgeous and is located inside a former ceramics factory.
